"Hyper(un)real"

School Project | Year 2017

Site-Specific-Installation

This series of work depicts the romance life of an old age man who loves his wife dearly yet murdered his wife due to bipolar disorder. It’s a work intertwined with ‘Love’ and ‘Death’.
Using photography to document his living environment and daily routine (e.g. watching TV or eating). With the aid of dramatic lightings, such as shining harsh light on the subject and/or places to implant a focus point and contrast for viewers. Vibrant colours to set the mood of him missing and wait for that someone close to him. The ‘Red Light’ act as his wife, constantly follows him closely. The colour red symbolises love yet also anger and vengefulness. A continual shots arrangement of the photos shows that there is no start and end to the series. Therefore, ‘this routine repeats again and again’. In another way, it is like a dream that we often dreamt of. Same setting, same location, but different scenarios playing each time...It’s a trap.
