Artist Statement

My artistic explorations are on detachment and attachment sentiment in the contemporary society through mixed media art. I am currently researching on the psychological impacts of photographs and keepsakes on individuals, such as the human mannerism and the significance of such objects, and the psychological effect of these keepsakes on an individual during different stages of one’s life.

Using my personal experiences as a basis for development, my present project looks at vernacular photographs, and how they may influence the one’s sense of identity, particularly in relation to a dysfunctional family and how memory recall may affect one’s connections and associations with the world.
